Project Title: The Other Door - What’s Wrong, Why Not?
Amount Awarded: €2,518 (full funding)
This performance, which will be held in the Theater Forum Kreuzberg in Berlin, aims to establish alternative possibilities to the conventional socio-cultural construct, some of which are disregarded or condemned by society. Touching on concepts of gender and culture, this performance creates a pseudo-society whereby ambiguity is experienced both personally, from each dancer’s perspective, and in contrast to each other. Through this project, the Moveo Dance Company will be presented with the opportunity to start out international connections and develop its work further.

Project Title: Outstaring Truth reading tour in Romania (The FAWWARA cancer poetry project)
Amount Awarded: €3,500 (full funding)
Outstaring Truth is a collection of poetry in English from the FAWWARA cancer project. These works were originally published in Maltese in Glen Calleja’s book ‘kull flgħaxija kif mal-għabex tnin u tmut saħħet il-jum.’ This project is an attempt at documenting direct experiences of cancer in poetic form. The collection is intended to be read as a single manuscript presenting the audience with a journey of sorts where one stands at the end of the world, as it were, looking out into what? Terminal disease includes love, absurdity and desperation, and so does this poetry.
Glen Calleja will be attending a 14-day poetry reading tour around four major Romanian cities, namely Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj and Iasi.
