It is unlikely that anyone gets into the music industry because they have a passion for business, but, in today’s D.I.Y dominated music landscape, it is also unlikely that creatives will fulfil their potential without having a solid understanding of the industry they are getting into. This session aims to explain the work of PRS for Music, one of the key components of that industry; what the organisation does and where does it fit into today's ever evolving music industry.

The session will be led by Andy Ellis who leads the Education and Outreach Team from PRS for Music.

Andy Ellis

Andy has been active in the music industry for over 30 years. During that time he’s been involved with music publishing, A&R, artist management, fund raising, marketing, communications and music education. His current role, leading the Education and Outreach team at PRS for Music, allows him to bring all of these strands together, helping music creators better understand PRS and its role; what it is, what it does, how and for whom, while at the same time signposting some of the ways in which aspiring music creators can generate an income and develop a career.
