The Ministry of Justice, Culture and Local Government, through the Malta Council for the Arts in collaboration with the Association of the Għaqda Każini tal-Banda launched a new fund that is targeted for the purchase of musical instruments of Soċjeta' tal-banda Maltija.

This fund is for co-financing instrument purchased for use by registered band musician / s for the Society they are applying for. The fund may cover up to 85% of the total cost of the project and the proposal must include a detailed and realistic educational program, and include the name and teacher experience, combined with what is expected to be it- projected learning. The list of eligible instruments under this scheme is the piccolo, oboe, cor anglais, bass clarinet, bassoon, baritone saxophone, E-flat Trumpet, flugelhorn, bass trombone and double bass.

The band musicians / s registered must have at least two years experience in playing a musical instrument of the same family being proposed on co-financing and / or three years if it is to reverse the type of instruments on. The band musicians are expected to appear before a panel of experts for a hearing to determine the right level of expertise. The proposed project must have innovative trends, professional and creative when it comes to learning and its implementation. The application must also consider the long-term sustainability of the project, as well as the purpose and benefits.

Proposals must be submitted on www.vofunding.org.mt until 3 December at noon. Applications after this date and time will not be accepted by the system.
