Simshar, Australia Release and Tour - Kukumajsa Productions Ltd

Kukumajsa Productions Ltd. toured Australia with the film Simshar in September and October 2015. Based on true events, Simshar tells the story of a Maltese fishing family who gets stranded in the Mediterranean. Their fate intertwines with that of migrants making the crossing from Africa to Europe, with tragic consequences. Simshar’s Australian tour involved collaborations with Australian distributor Backlot Studios, PR company Jameson PR, multiple exhibitors and Australian artists, personalities and stakeholders. This helped establish a film network between Malta and Australia, as well as furthering the international distribution of an indigenous Maltese film overseas.
