Project Title: Environmental Justice Film Festival

Project Description:
The project Enviornmental Justice Film Festival is split into two parts: a weekly sessions spread over a period of 3 months and a two-day film screening. The weekly will invite participants to attend engaging discussions, film screenings, presentations and informal education sessions. From this series of sessions the participants will have a chance to develop their own amateur short films with the technical support and mentorship of people who work in the field.
The two-days of film screenings will be curated by FOE Malta and Kinemastik, it will also include short films that have been developed through the prior 3 month period.

Project Title: Gathering Youths through Arts

Project Description:
The project aims to invest in professional training of youths. This will include a long weekend of singing masterclass sessions including singing techniques, performance skills, and live singing with a live band/ensembles techniques to singers ageing from 10 to 20. The tutors together with the bands' musical and assistant musical director of the band will choose some students to sing live with the band. A theatrical props artist will also be doing a workshop to all the youths interested and together will be creating the props for the concert. An ensemble ethics workshop will be given to the wind band emphasizing on rehearsal ethics and ensemble playing. A team building activity will then be held a week prior to the concert so as to have a bonding experience between all participants prior the production week. This project will help in developing skills, get more youths involved in cultural and artistic productions and create new artistic friendships.

Project Description:
This project is being held in collaboration with LEAP South Region. The aim is to partner with members of the community to turn a public space in Kirkop, which is currently being underutilized to an affective learning space. This space will enable children and all those young at heart to leave their creative mark and experience new opportunities through play. Participants will be mentored by a team of community support workers, and volunteers led by an artist. The play structures will be designed by the children, together with the artist and other community members. The same procedure will follow to design the surrounding exterior walls and surrounding fence. The project will involve community walks and recruiting outreach exercises, design days and implementation workshops with two artist. Apart from being creative in artistic expression, the project wants to address environmental issues by teaching how to reuse, and recycle unwanted material into a play structure. In this regards other parallel initiatives include recycling initiatives will be organised as to collect the base material for the structures.

Visualising dignity
A project celebrating the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and seeking to engage Malta (as nation and community of communities) in human rights and the fundamental messages they contain: dignity, equality, respect, diversity. The project builds on the belief that the excellent work done by human rights NGOs deserves more verve, more colour, more edge and – generally – a more contemporary and challenging approach. Ten selected artists will engage in dialogue with local human rights NGOs on pertinent issues, challenges and concerns – with a view to producing and exhibiting innovative cutting-edge human rights posters.
