Master classes with Margaret Leng Tan and George Crumb in New York and Philadelphia

Last November Tricia Dawn Williams travelled to New York and Philadelphia for individual masterclasses with Margaret Leng Tan and American composer George Crumb. These classes focused on Makrokosmos; a monumental work for amplified piano and extended technique. During the master classes, she followed Leng Tan's coaching on how to correctly tackle this score - which, in addition to playing the keyboard, requires the strumming and plucking of the strings - engaging the pianist in a whole new sound world.
