This project focuses on teamwork and goal creation for patients at Mount Carmel Hospital through artistic expression. Matthew F. Cassar, a local artist, conducted a series of artistic workshops where multiple patients collaborated amongst themselves and with the artist to create large acrylic paintings on wood, all in the artist’s colourful and vivid style. Ten groups representing ten wards from the hospital have created a painting each, with the subject matter being up to each patient to decide and coherence to be achieved by means of style.

In the finished pieces one can see a freshly discovered interest by some patients towards painting as well as some very personal motives that certain patients felt the need to portray. The ten paintings will now form an exhibition at Mt. Carmel Hospital where the public will be able to view these works from its inauguration on the 12th of October.
