CARMEN by Teatru Aurora

Teatru Aurora will be presenting Georges Bizet’s Carmen, an opera in 4 acts. The opera returns to the Aurora Opera House on the 15th October 2016, and will be staged with the participation of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra directed by Colin Attard and the participation of Aurora Opera Chorus, together with an international cast.

Written in the genre of opéra comique, the opera is set in southern Spain and tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of the fiery gypsy Carmen. The title role of Carmen will be interpreted by the Bulgarian-born mezzo-soprano Nadia Krasteva, who will be accompanied by the Italian tenor Roberto De Biasio.
