Żugraga present Barcode: A contemporary dance piece reflecting experiences of discrimination between local and non-local citizens in Malta
The process of devising this dance piece was led by research. Skits were presented during this process so as to gather feedback and stories from random audiences whose perceptions and experiences laid the foundation of Barcode. Other stories gathered from questionnaires and surveys as well as local research, historical accounts and current newspaper reports were integrated into the piece. Żugraga physicalised these experiences so as to communicate the spectrum of perceptions between acceptance and discrimination present within a community comprising of infinite differences.
