Attending the Berlinale in preparation for VFF 2016

Malta Film Grain Foundation

Rebecca Anastasi, one of the programmers of the Valetta Film Festival 2016, on behalf of the Malta Film Grain Foundation was recently funded through the Cultural Export Fund’s Travel Grant to attend the 66th Berlin Film Festival 2016, in order to attend meetings with various agents at the Festival.

Rebecca remarked that 'the trip was extremely fruitful and allowed us to select a multitude of films constituting our ‘Without Borders’ section of the festival (focusing on films from the Middle East), as well as meet many of the filmmakers and agents representing these films. This was invaluable in order to secure the rights and solidify our reputation on the international scene. The presence of Valletta Film Festival at the Berlinale confirmed our dedication and level of professionalism to our international contacts, the fruits of which will be experienced for many years.'
