Arts Council Malta would like to encourage organisations, especially those working with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, to submit their project bid for the Premju tal-President għall-Kreattività ahead of tomorrow’s deadline for the submission of applications.

Arts Council Malta is especially encouraging those organisations that are interested in teaming up and presenting a joint project bid. In the case of a project involving two or more organisations, and in which at least one organisation is active in the cultural and creative sector and at least one other in the social sphere, a project may exceed the maximum allocation of EUR 6,000 and qualify for a maximum of EUR 8,000.

The President’s Award for Creativity provides recognition and support at the highest level of the State to institutions and organisations that target the special needs and well-being of the community at large, with a special emphasis on the more hard-to-reach groups and vulnerable sectors.

The aim of the Award, which is managed by the Office of the President and Arts Council Malta, is to help organisations engage these groups and sectors in creativity and arts-driven projects, thereby increasing their level of integration and engagement in society.

By means of creative ventures and the creative arts, the President’s Award seeks to reach disadvantaged children, youth, the elderly, people with different abilities and people from different ethnic backgrounds, with a view to providing them with access to a wide range of quality art experiences and art-engagement activities, as well as providing a platform for young, promising talent.

Moreover, the Premju tal-President għall-Kreattività offers an incentive for arts organisations to contribute towards community development and collaborative arts projects. Organisations, entities and institutions based and operating in Malta, and working in the field of social or community development or active in any cultural and creative field, are all eligible.

The deadline for the current intake of applications is tomorrow, Friday 28 June 2019.
