Arts Council Malta, under the auspices of the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, has been entrusted to act as the Commissioner and the Contracting Authority of Malta’s participation at the London Design Biennale 2023.
The London Design Biennale is an international exhibition featuring world leading design innovation and creativity from countries across the globe. The event reveals the potential of design to respond radically to changing social and environmental needs, its contribution to the world economy and its power to drive change and find solutions for the benefit of all.
Arts Council Malta in collaboration with the London Design Biennale invites Artists/ Architects and/or Designers to form a Malta Design Team.
Malta’s Installation will be exhibited in the courtyard of the historic Somerset House in London, one of the UK’s finest and most beautiful 18th century buildings, which is of international historical and architectural importance.
Malta’s Installation needs to take into consideration the actual public outdoor space in which it will be set up in. It will be a site specific, free-standing artistic installation which is immersive, interactive, and sustainable. Artists/ Designers/ Architects are welcome to experiment with unconventional display and exhibition formats.
In the application, please outline the members of the team who will support the delivery of Malta’s participation. In some instances, the same person may fulfil more than one role, thus kindly specify this where appropriate.
