Singer Nadine Mercieca and pianist Kris Spiteri have been invited by artistic director Andrea Marcelli to participate in the Italian Jazz Festival to be held in December 2014. Through this festival the participants share their passion for jazz  music and blend their musical ideas into creative ways based on musical dialogue. This project scores high in terms of creative development.

Project Title: 1000 Voices for Peace

2014 marks 100 years since the start of the First World War. Amadeus Chamber Choir will join around 1000 singers in the performance of a new oratorio by polish composer and conductor Penderecki. This oratorio was specifically composed for the Flanders Festival to be held in Brussels, Belgium on the 9^th November 2014. This opportunity will further improve the Choir’s performance skills in choral singing.

Project Title: Traduzzjoni għall-Franciż ta’ Novelli ta’ Pierre J. Mejlak

A French translation and publication of 17 short stories by Maltese author Pierre J. Mejlak. The translation of Mejlak’s engaging stories will showcase Maltese literature in France and other francophone countries, particularly as most of the themes that characterise the stories have a peculiar cosmopolitan feel. The project will further develop the artistic development of both the applicant as a translator and the author of the Maltese stories.

Project Title: Translation of Short Stories

An English translation of twelve stories taken from three different short story collections, each of which has been a Literary Award prize-winner – ‘Lubien’ (1996),‘Provenz’ ‘(2001), ‘Penumbra’ (2011). Albert Gatt will be translating works having a thematic variety guaranteed to interest most readers. This project will further develop Malta’s art scene overseas, as well as generate interest in our national language and literature.
