Audiences will be ushered into the lives of the protagonists as they go about their day to day business and are invited to expound on their views and biases in relation to the dilemma at hand. They will be invited to anonymously pen a series of letters to one another, engaging in a long-distance debate, thus allowing the beneficiary to document two different ways of being, while demonstrating how thoughts and ideas develop as their interaction progresses. After writing to each other for a full month, the two protagonists will be invited to finally meet and explore their beliefs face to face.

Project Title: Wied Dalam
Allocated funds (EUR): 24,572
This project takes us far back in time to Prehistory — a period when the Maltese Islands still formed an integral part of the European mainland. Għar Dalam is Malta’s oldest prehistoric site and one of the island’s most important national monuments. Archaeological excavations held in the cave in the 19th century led to the discovery of five main layers. Animal bones of creatures the likes of which have not lived on the Maltese Islands for thousands of years were found in two of those layers. The top layer, referred to as the ‘Cultural Layer’, holds the earliest evidence of human presence in Malta, some 7,400 years ago. Both Wied Dalam and Għar Dalam are of priceless paleontological, archaeological and ecological significance, not only at a local level but also in a global context. By means of this series, the beneficiary aims to cultivate an interest in Malta’s rich past and put a spotlight on a period that is very often overlooked in favour of more recent history. This series will seek to capture interest through content that is both based on well-researched historical facts as well as fun to watch.
