Moscow International Performing Arts Centre is inviting the best young pianists from all over the world to gather together for the Vladimir Krainev Moscow International Piano Competition which opens its gates for the third time in spring 2019

The main aim of this competition is to discover, give visibility and support young gifted musicians who are on their way to becoming accomplished artists.

The special commission will start the live auditions in December 2018 travelling around the world to look out for the most inspiring young pianists. After a qualifying round that will take place in several countries and will touch eight cities, the 24 brightest young talents will be invited to Moscow. 

The Competition is open to young pianists of all nationalities and is held in three age groups:

Junior group: 8 to 12 years old (born between March 28, 2006 and March 27, 2011);

Middle group: 13 to 16 years old (born between March 28, 2002 and March 27, 2006);

Senior group: 17 to 22 years old  (born between March 28, 1996 and March 27, 2002).

Pianists who have reached the age of 12 or 16 at the time of the Competition may opt to participate in the older age group.  

The Competition will consist of three stages:

First stage: Video Screening (November 1 to 15, 2018);

Second stage: Preliminary auditions at different locations around the world (November 21, 2018 to February 28, 2019);

Third stage: Competition Auditions: Recital round and Finals with orchestra held at the International Performing Arts Centre in Moscow (March 27 to 31, 2019).

To apply for the Competition it is necessary to fill in the application form on www.krainevcompetition.com not later than 31 October, 2018 and upload a video recording for the Video Screening stage.
