Working closely with the Internationalisation Executive at Arts Council Malta, the PR and Marketing Services will contribute to the vision of Arts Council Malta’s Internationalisation programme, with a specific focus on export programmes and initiatives forming part of Arts Council Malta’s Funding and Strategy portfolio, including Malta’s participation in international events and cultural collaborations.

General Responsibilities

To devise marketing and communication strategies to promote the international programmes and initiatives managed by ACM;

To manage and deliver ACM’s international media relations and PR activity, contributing towards the development of professional and transparent relationships with local, national and international media across digital and traditional channels;

To manage and coordinate the production of adverts, advertorials and other promotional materials, booking of advertising, regular upkeep of web content, the planning and delivery of social media and audio-visual campaigns;

To organise and draft speeches and press releases in local and international media;

To generate, analyse and utilise robust data/analytics to evaluate and report on the performance of ACM’s international marketing and communication strategies and related campaigns while making recommendations for improvement as required;

To develop and manage marketing, media and PR campaigns to ensure continuous, timely and high-quality public engagement with ACM’s International activities;

To manage the planning and delivery of social media campaigns;

To establish and coordinate a strong communication network between ACM and local and international journalists so as to maximise the exposure of ACM’s International projects both locally and internationally;

To provide regular updates about the progress being made on the communications of international programmes and initiatives;

To assist in the procurement work, including gathering of quotations within the administration section as per Government Procurement Regulations;

To liaise with the Internationalisation Executive and ACM’s communications team as needed, including research, development, the collection of data, content writing, drafting, proof reading and editing of information;

To ensure that communications deadlines are achieved effectively and efficiently;

To handle reactive media and wider communications enquiries effectively and in a timely manner;

To provide compelling copy in Maltese and English for public engagement as required while managing the coordination with external service providers;

To ensure that all of ACM’s international communication is appropriately branded and professionally executed while complying with all GDPR, intellectual property and public services requirements, as well as abiding by the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion underpinned by ACM’s commitment to the cultural rights of everyone.

Other Duties as Assigned

This job description is not necessarily an exhaustive list of duties but is intended to reflect a range of duties the PR and Marketing Service Provider for ACM International projects will perform. The job description may be reviewed regularly and may be changed in the light of experience and in consultation with the Communications for International Projects and Initiatives.

The selected service provider will be required to work 20 hours a week and be available for meetings via internet, on-site or at the office. S/he will have flexible working hours and will be able to provide services during unscheduled or at unusual times as required by the exigencies of the international work.

Qualifications and Experience Required

In possession of a Masters degree at MQF Level 7 or an appropriate, recognised comparable qualification in Communication, Cultural Management or relevant areas, plus one (1) years relevant work experience.

OR

In possession of a Bachelors qualification at MQF Level 6, or an appropriate, recognised, comparable qualification in Communications, Cultural Management or relevant areas, plus two (2) years relevant work experience.

AND MUST HAVE

Experience in working on international projects

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in Maltese and English, and preferably also in Italian;

Proven track record of working the Cultural Sector;

Contract

The selected candidate will be awarded a one (1) year Contract for Service, with the possibility to renew for a further period, depending on his/her performance.

Answerable to the Internationalisation Executive and the Director Funding and Strategy of Arts Council Malta, operating with flexible hours to meet the demands and requirements of the position. The chosen candidate will be required to work within the rules and regulations of the Malta Public Service.

The remuneration is of €14,000 (excluding VAT but including any other taxes or charges) per year.

Payment will be processed monthly by Arts Council Malta on receipt of an invoice with a valid VAT number.
