Arts Council Malta invites applications from individuals or representatives of organisations, over the age of 22, that work in, or across any of the following disciplines: Theatre, Dance, Circus, Interdisciplinary live art forms and New Media.

What is IETM?

IETM is the International network for contemporary performing arts. It is a network of over 450 performing arts organisations and individual members working in the contemporary performing arts worldwide: theatre, dance, circus, performance, interdisciplinary live art forms, new media.

IETM runs two plenary sessions a year in European cities that include debate, pitches and networking alongside an artistic programme of international work. It also holds smaller meetings all over the world. In addition, IETM commission publications and research projects, facilitate communication and distribution of information and advocate for the value of performing arts.

Attending IETM is the ideal opportunity for creative practitioners who want to make international contacts and broaden their understanding of the global challenges facing the performing arts community in the 21st century.

IETM Tromsø in Norway will explore the theme of activism. The event aims to challenge our understanding of the dynamic between activism, socio-political engagement and performing arts. How to Apply:

If you are interested in attending IETM, kindly provide the following information by way of application:

  • A copy of your Maltese ID card, residence permit, or passport;
  • An image of yourself, a short biography, and an individual/organisation CV;
  • Your artistic portfolio including visuals and demos;
  • Your interest in attending IETM, and why this would be useful to you at this point in your career;
  • If you have attended an IETM meeting previously, why are you keen to attend again;

Also, please answer/address the following question as part of your application:

Can the performing arts change minds and bring people together despite the compelling divergence of opinions?

 

Application

  • The deadline for applications is Friday 28th February, at midday. Chosen applicants will be notified via email by Monday 9th March. Applicants must be available to travel between 28th April and 4th May 2020.
  • Arts Council Malta will cover flight expenses and airport transfers (against receipts); 3* accommodation; IETM participation fee; up to €60 entrance to attend IETM performances (against receipts).
