Arts Council Malta will be participating in IETM’s plenary meeting, taking place in Rijeka, Croatia between 24 and 27 October 2019, and is offering the opportunity to 2 performing artists to form part of its delegation. This call is open to Maltese performing artists or representatives of performing arts organisations based in Malta or abroad.

What is IETM?

IETM is the International network for contemporary performing arts. It is a network of over 450 performing arts organisations and individual members working in the contemporary performing arts worldwide: theatre, dance, circus, performance, interdisciplinary live art forms, new media.

IETM runs two plenary sessions a year in European cities that include debate, pitches and networking alongside an artistic programme of international work. It also holds smaller meetings all over the world. In addition, IETM commission publications and research projects, facilitate communication and distribution of information and advocate for the value of performing arts.

Attending IETM is the ideal opportunity for creative practitioners who want to make international contacts and broaden their understanding of the global challenges facing the performing arts community in the 21st century.

IETM Rijeka in Croatia will explore the theme of audiences. The event aims to deepen and challenge our understanding of participation, cultural democracy, everyday creativity, audience development and ownership. For further information have a look here: https://www.ietm.org/en/rijeka
