The Mediterranean Generation: Malta Forum for the “Summit of the Two Shores” Malta, 25 April 2019

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion, following on the initiative of the French President Emanuel Macron, and in collaboration with the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF), is launching a call to young leaders, educators, civil society practitioners and intercultural experts from across Malta to participate in the upcoming Forum "The Mediterranean Generation", to be held on 25 April 2019.

This event is being held with the support of the European Commission, and in association with the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), the Mediterranean Academy for Diplomatic Studies (MEDAC) and the Agenzija Żgħażagħ as well as other renowned international organisations.

This regional gathering on “Youth, Mobility and Education” represents one of the pre-Summit Forums in the framework of the landmark “Summit of the Two Shores” to be held in Marseille on 24 June with Heads of State/Governments from the 5+5 Western Mediterranean Dialogue countries, the European Union and Germany, Mediterranean organisations (UfM and ALF), international institutions (WB, EIB, EBRD and the OECD) and one hundred civil society representatives from the two shores of the Mediterranean.

The output of this official pre-Summit Forum in Malta will shape large-scale, multi-lateral projects and policy actions to be launched through the Summit, putting youth and civil society dialogue at the heart of renewed cooperation in the Mediterranean. The Malta Forum will be structured on a World Café model with interactive working group sessions aimed at exchanging innovative practice and refining large-scale actions to be expanded across the two shores of the Mediterranean.
