Arts Council Malta (ACM) announces Resilience Funding Schemes for 2022 as part of the €7 million investment in funding for the arts.

During a press conference addressed by the Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government José Herrera and Arts Council Malta (ACM) Director Funding and Strategy Mary-Ann Cauchi, it was announced that the first call for the Programming Support Scheme 2022 is now open. This scheme forms part of the Resilience Funds which also include the Events Assurance Scheme and the Seat Utilisation Scheme published in December 2021.

Arts Council Malta announces €7 million direct investment in funding schemes for 2022

Following the announcement of the 2022 budget in October, Arts Council Malta unveiled its funding schemes for 2022 based on 5 main pillars: Resilience, Artistic and Community, Development, Education, Cultural Heritage and Structural. The schemes are aimed at building on the momentum generated from last year’s RESTART schemes which were a catalyst in the regeneration of the creative and cultural sectors following the disruptions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Arts Council Malta publishes findings from Audience Research study

59% of the Maltese public are open to donating money to cultural organisations to support their work, whilst 44% are willing to pay for cultural events that were previously free, and a further 37% are willing to pay ticket prices that are up to 10% higher than they were prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. These are some of the main findings from an Audience Research study commissioned by Arts Council Malta over the past months.

The Events Assurance Scheme is aimed at providing the necessary assurance for cultural and artistic professionals in case of any potential re-introduction of restrictive measures beyond the current ones. Tax Deduction on Fees paid for Cultural and Creative Courses

Parents of children under 16 who attended Cultural or Creative courses during 2019 can now apply for a tax deduction scheme of up to a maximum of €100 for each child. If the course was provided by an entity or individual recognised by Arts Council Malta, parents are entitled to claim a deduction against their chargeable income of up to a maximum of €100 for each child.

Third edition of ‘Il-Premju għall-Arti’ launched

Investing in our traditions – €150,000 distributed among 29 band clubs

Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government Owen Bonnici announced that a total of 29 musical societies have been awarded € 150,000 amongst them, thanks to a fund focusing on strengthening the cultural work done by these societies.  This fund is now in its third year.

Cittadella Arts Festival in Gozo

On Saturday 17th August, the curtain will be raised on the Cittadella Arts Festival in Gozo.
