Membership strengthens Malta’s links with European policy and professional networks in the live performance sector

Arts Council Malta has joined Pearle* – Live Performance Europe, the European network representing organisations and associations working across music, performing arts and live performance.

Established in 1991, Pearle* represents more than 14,000 theatres, concert venues, production companies, orchestras, opera, ballet and dance companies, festivals, promoters and other professional organisations through its membership. Its work combines sector representation at European level with professional exchange, policy expertise and networking across the live performance sector.

Through its membership, Arts Council Malta will gain access to a European network of cultural leaders, policy and legal experts, alongside opportunities to participate in conferences, working groups and specialised meetings. Pearle* also follows EU policy and regulatory developments affecting the sector, including cultural policy, employment and social affairs, skills and training, mobility, copyright, taxation and sustainability.

Joining Pearle* gives Arts Council Malta another important channel through which to engage directly with the conversations and policy developments shaping live performance across Europe. It also creates opportunities to exchange knowledge with organisations facing many of the same questions as our sector in Malta, while bringing our own experience and perspective to the table.

This membership forms part of Arts Council Malta’s continued work to strengthen its international networks and ensure that Malta’s cultural and creative sectors remain connected to developments, expertise and opportunities at European level.
