This project is supported by Organisation Support Grant

BLITZ, managed by Alexandra Pace, was founded in June 2013 as a grassroots, artist-run contemporary art space. The vision was clear and enthusiasm abundant. Through generous, hands-on support from a community and network of fellow artists, creatives and thinkers, in its first year and a half BLITZ has experienced exponential audience growth.

“In 2015, BLITZ gained the formal status of a non-profit organisation and, closely following that, we were awarded the Organisation Support Grant which, at the time, still formed part of the Malta Arts Fund. Suddenly, there was flexibility to grow as this gave the organisation the much needed capital it required to be able to employ professionals on the team and invest in infrastructure. As a result, so far in 2015 we have launched the Blitz Residency programme, established international partnerships, and have defined the organisation’s financial objectives, curatorial vision and the implementation of an exhibition and learning programme for at least the next three years.”
