The Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation in collaboration with Arts Council Malta, within the Ministry of Artistic Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, have commissioned ARC Research & Consultancy to carry out a consultation process on mapping and recommendations regarding the needs and requirements for the formation of an Academy for the Performing and Visual Arts.
A one-day seminar will be held on 30 April 2024 between 08:45 and 17:00 hrs at the Valletta Design Cluster which will include workshop sessions aimed at bringing together practitioners, pedagogues, and PCOs associated with dance, music, theatre, and visual and interdisciplinary arts in an intensive working environment.
The seminar will focus on existing challenges and the future of performing and visual arts education in Malta. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in fruitful exchange and reflection on training strategies and processes related to the preparation of performing and visual artists for a professional career in the industry. In this regard we invite participants to share insights and experiences in the field and to propose potential actions to boost art-practice education and find relevant solutions leading to a culturally richer, healthier, and happier arts ecosystem.
