Role: Research and Communications Assistant
This role combines research, communications, and design skills to support the mission of Friends of the Earth Malta. The apprentice will take care of communications and website management. They will provide support towards the implementation of a Communications Strategy internal policies and the development of effective communication campaigns through social and traditional media for various campaign areas. They will keep online media up to date. The apprentice will assist in writing press releases and statements and in generating coverage across traditional and new media. They will distribute information materials at stalls, fairs, events and in other public activities. They will organise and coordinate a calendar of events and keep an accurate record for statistical and evaluation purposes. They will also design FoEMalta’s printed and web-based materials, editing photographs to be used in internal and external communication. The apprentice will conduct in-depth research on the history of Friends of the Earth Malta through interviews with past members, reviewing archival material, and researching the wider context of environmental movements in Malta. The apprentice will connect with other organisations working within the same field, thus contributing to the development of materials for the organisation’s 40th anniversary. This may include written material, graphic design and other creative means of communication.

Role: Apprentice Dancer
The apprentice will feature in performances held in theatres, schools, tours, and other events. They will participate in daily classes to maintain technique and fitness levels for safe practice. On most days, classes consist of Ballet, with occasional yoga, pilates, contemporary, or conditioning classes. The apprentice will learn choreography and material as instructed by the directors. This may include understudying the company dancers for both new work and repertoire. They will also participate in workshops delivered by the company to different community groups, assist at events and the studio with duties related to props, costumes, ushering, front of house, acting as a stagehand when needed.

Role: CG Generalist/Animator
The CG Generalist / Animator is responsible for creating computer-generated assets across various mediums, including 2D, 3D, animation and visual effects. They will create computer-generated assets through the usage of software. The apprentice will work efficiently and to a high standard across multiple CG tasks, examine and evaluate the look of computer graphics – animation, 3D modelling and technical effects and work on entire shots or sequences of shots from conception to delivery. The apprentice will review Client/Company notes and make changes accordingly, finalising and integrating the final element. They will liaise with the team, Leads, and Supervisors to ensure all artistic and technical requirements are satisfied. The apprentice will be responsible for ensuring a seamless integration between disciplines, whilst keeping up to date with the lastest developments in 3D animation techniques and software. Finally, they will work with the different sections of the VFX and animation pipeline

Role: Delegate for Culture
The apprentice will assist in the development and execution of the cultural program for the office of the Archbishop’s Delegate for Culture in Malta. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of culture, community and faith, contributing to the enrichment of the cultural and creative community in Malta. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience in cultural program management, community outreach, and administrative support. It will require close collaboration directly with the Delegate for Culture, the Creative Director within his office and the Operations Manager of the Catholic Institute.

Role: Administrative Assistant/ Supporting Musician with Villa Bianca
The apprentice will serve as both an Administrative Assistant and a Supporting Musician at Villabianca, balancing administrative duties with music-related responsibilities to support the centre’s operations and programs. They will also assist with scheduling sessions, book spaces and log attendance, handle phone calls, welcome families and service users, and liaise with parents, thus providing administrative support to the Head of Services and Creative Director. The apprentice will facilitate agreements with collaborating entities and ensure implementation of ethical policies, assist with acquiring, maintaining, and ensuring the hygiene of instruments and resources, as well as handling maintenance needs of the centre, edit photos, videos, and audio, and handle media and video editing. The Apprentice will also proofread documents and attend relevant meetings and CPDs.

The apprentice will assist the Artistic Director and Producer, within the scope of Opera Nova Project (ONP) which has a national and international context, to manage ONP’s 8-month winter course scheduling, International Summer Residency and performance projects (both small and large scale) from conception to final outcome. The Apprentice will develop and nurture relationships with local authorities, external parties and other arts and social organisations, in order to build partnerships that will assist in the delivery of the aims and objectives of the outreach and education strategy.

Role: Assistant to the Festival Director
The apprentice will be the assistant to the Festival Director who will be tasked with working closely with the Festival Director. The role entails skill sets related to events management, generally and in particular to Festival management. The apprentice’s role will entail assisting the Festival Director in the various aspects of the general development, organisation and administration of the project. The apprentice will be mentored throughout by an experienced mentor, who will give appropriate and relevant responsibilities to help improve operations.
