{"id":9485,"date":"2025-02-17T14:04:04","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T14:04:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/?p=9485"},"modified":"2025-08-29T03:18:17","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T01:18:17","slug":"the-fifth-edition-of-il-premju-ghall-arti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/en\/the-fifth-edition-of-il-premju-ghall-arti\/","title":{"rendered":"The fifth edition of il-Premju g\u0127all-Arti"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at its launch, Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Jos\u00e8 Herrera noted the crucial importance of the Premju g\u0127all-Arti for the sector. \u201cThrough this initiative, we\u2019re continuously ensuring that our creatives and artists\u2019 efforts and work are being recognised. As&nbsp;a Government we are supporting our artists and their creations, in the development of our country, via the appreciation of our cultural heritage and as a catalyst for the local sector to reach international platforms,\u201d stated Herrera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/artscouncilmaltagovmt.skipdns.link\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/1643527690.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Albert Marshall, Executive Chairman at Arts Council Malta commended the Premju g\u0127all-Arti and described it as \u201ca celebration by the Council for the primary achievements in the Maltese cultural and creative sectors. This is also a way in which the Arts Council showcases its community effort, as the awards are one of the many opportunities for creatives and artists.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The fifth edition has 13 categories, out of which 10 are competitive ones, with the other 3 being honorary awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/artscouncilmaltagovmt.skipdns.link\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/1643527728.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maria Angela Vassallo, Creative Entrepreneurship Executive said that \u201cthe projects and artistic works submitted for the Premju g\u0127all-Arti need to consider some of the following criteria, including the highest level of excellence, its target audience, the impact on a community level, whether there are any significant collaborations brought about by this work, its impact on the national creative ecology and its contribution to Arts Council Malta&#8217;s ongoing strategy, amongst others. This information can be found in more details in the guidelines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nominations are to be submitted online, where guidelines are also available both in English and Maltese. Eligible projects for the 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;edition of the Premju g\u0127all-Arti need to have occurred between the 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;of October 2019 and the 14<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of March 2020, and between the 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;of October 2020 and the 30<sup>th<\/sup>of September 2021. Submissions for the 5<sup>th<\/sup>edition close on&nbsp;<strong>Monday the 28<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of February 2022<\/strong>, at&nbsp;<strong>noon<\/strong>.
