{"id":9292,"date":"2025-02-17T08:04:15","date_gmt":"2025-02-17T08:04:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/?p=9292"},"modified":"2025-08-29T03:18:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T01:18:20","slug":"budget-2021-investment-in-culture-increased","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/en\/budget-2021-investment-in-culture-increased\/","title":{"rendered":"Budget 2021: Investment in culture increased"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2021 culture budget is estimated to be at 1.6 per cent of total government expenditure, consistent with the trend in recent years.&nbsp;Per capita public investment in culture for 2020 is expected to reach \u20ac185 \u2013 in line with that of 2020.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A total of \u20ac31.7 million will be invested towards ACM&#8217;s funding programmes, initiatives and Public Cultural Organisations &#8211; a 13% increase over budget 2020. This includes the&nbsp;public funding portfolio awarded by Arts Council Malta which registered \u20ac3.4 million&nbsp;\u2013 an increase of 41% over that&nbsp;budgeted for&nbsp;2020. Investment in&nbsp;Public cultural organisations falling under ACM&#8217;s remit also increased by 12% over 2020&nbsp;with an allocation of&nbsp;\u20ac24.2 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The budget also announced an allocation of \u20ac1 million that will be dedicated to a new Culture Assistance Fund as a response to the impact of the pandemic on the cultural and creative sectors as well as&nbsp;\u20ac2 million to be invested in a concert hall.
