Is that changing as the world becomes more nomadic and turns to its darker face? How can they deal with the central dilemmas of our times? Alternatively, what qualities do they lack to make the most of their potential?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/charleslandry.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">International author, speaker and adviser Charles Landry<\/a>&nbsp;will explore how questions of anchorage and belonging, possibility and opportunity, connection and bonding, exploring our better selves and inspiration are addressed and what role artists can play with cities around the world to help them make the most of their potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/1533121868.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>An international authority on using imagination in creating self-sustaining urban change, Charles has advised cities or given talks in over 60 countries. He helps shift how we harness possibilities and resources in reinventing our cities and his Creative City concept has become a global movement. His book&nbsp;<em>The Art of City Making&nbsp;<\/em>was recently voted the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>&nbsp;best book on cities ever written by the planning website&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetizen.com\/node\/66462\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Planetizen<\/a>. His most recent book is&nbsp;<em>The Civic City in a Nomadic World.&nbsp;<\/em>Other books cover the measurement of urban creativity, the digitized city, urban fragility and risk, the sensory experience cities and interculturalism. He is widely acclaimed as a speaker, author, innovator and he facilitates complex urban change projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACMlab session will be held on Monday 3 September 2018 at 6:30pm at the Malta Maritime Museum, Ex-Naval Bakery, Vittoriosa Waterfront, Vittoriosa.
