{"id":8950,"date":"2025-02-14T09:41:07","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T09:41:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/?p=8950"},"modified":"2025-08-29T03:18:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T01:18:25","slug":"young-artivisti-get-together-for-interdisciplinary-residency-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/en\/young-artivisti-get-together-for-interdisciplinary-residency-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"Young Artivisti get together for interdisciplinary residency programme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Artivisti is an opportunity for young emerging artists to nurture potential, creativity, talent, initiative and social responsibility, therefore limiting the likelihood that young creatives will delay their professional development and be discouraged from participating in creative endeavours and opportunities for creative growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other than the mentoring programme with creative professionals, the young Artivisti are offered an interdisciplinary residency programme designed to maximise cultural immersion and creative development. The residency has the aim of facilitating productive interaction between creatives. Through the initiatives of the interdisciplinary residency, the Artivisti are encouraged to draw on networking experiences, engage in creative collaborations and cross-pollination of ideas, engage with different communities and the wider public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interdisciplinary residency, facilitated by A\u0121enzija \u017bg\u0127a\u017cag\u0127, is a profile of a number of initiatives including peer sessions, behind-the-scenes touring, a meet-the-artist series, and a residential experience. While most of the mentioned initiatives are ongoing, the Artivisti residential took place between 18 and 20 May 2018 at Villa Psaigon, Dingli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme included a workshop on the theme \u2018Art as Politics\u2019 by Gabi Calleja and Nadine Noko, a session by Annalisa Schembri focusing on developing a pitch to describe one&#8217;s own work, and a meeting with Il-Premju ghall-Arti 2017 Artist of the Year Diane Portelli from Moveo Dance Company. The young Artivisti also had the opportunity to discuss with policymakers Miriam Teuma, CEO A\u0121enzija \u017bg\u0127a\u017cag\u0127, and Elaine Falzon, Head of Funds &amp; Brokerage at Arts Council Malta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may find further information about the programme in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Artivisti%20Guidelines_07%2007%202017.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guidelines<\/a>.
