This year\u2019s edition features a new strand of \u20ac20,000 in additional funds whereby beneficiaries of previous editions of the Award may apply to receive support for the continuation of their community projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The amount committed to this year\u2019s Award programme is \u20ac85,000. Awarded projects may receive up to \u20ac6,000, with the possibility of \u20ac8,000 in the case of a collaboration between two organisations. The Award may cover up to 100% of eligible project costs. Awardees in the new strand may receive up to \u20ac5,000 every year, for a three-year period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The potential of art and creativity in fostering social and cultural change and regeneration has been shown and proven in a number of contexts, including those characterised by social challenging environments, poverty and exclusion. This understanding is the basis for Il-Premju tal-President g\u0127all-Kreattivit\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Award provides recognition and support at the highest level of the State to organisations, especially those working with vulnerable and hard-to-reach groups groups with a special emphasis on children, young people, minority groups and the elderly, to engage them in creativity and arts-driven projects and thereby increase their level of integration and engagement in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year, a total of 10 projects were selected out of 17 applicants. Projects included an artistic project involving a group of survivors of domestic violence and their children, young and elderly people collaborating through a photographic project as well as a project involving teenagers from the Grand Harbour area who narrated their stories through film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Il-Premju tal-President g\u0127all-Kreattivit\u00e0 is linked to the implementation of Arts Council Malta\u2019s goals outlined in the Council\u2019s Create 2020 Strategy, with a particular focus on providing more opportunities for people to engage in creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
