Formerly the Curator of the Malta Maritime Museum, Liam has collaborated extensively with international artists, curators, and institutions to bring Malta\u2019s seafaring past to life through exhibitions, events, and historical programming. His work blends rigorous archival research with public engagement, often highlighting the lived experiences of corsairs, merchants, and mariners. Today, he serves as Senior Asset Development Manager at Heritage Malta, where he continues to shape national heritage projects that connect local narratives to global audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul Portelli<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"920\" src=\"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Paul-Portelli-pic-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12943\" style=\"width:246px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Paul-Portelli-pic-2.png 780w, https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Paul-Portelli-pic-2-254x300.png 254w, https:\/\/artscouncilmalta.gov.mt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Paul-Portelli-pic-2-768x906.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul Portelli is a local actor and theatre director and a founder-member of theatre Anon. He has taken part in numerous productions, including Cherry Orchard (MADC) Candide, Metamorphoses, Dorde, La Bette, Agamemnon (all for Theatre Anon), Souterrain (WildWorks), Paul (Unifaun), Dinner, Marlene Moves (Actinghouse Productions), Bla Kondixin (Ideas Alive) as well as Island of Dreams and A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings with the well-known UK theatre company Kneehigh. He was also the artistic director of the TVM production Ghada Jisbah Ukoll.
