In 2024, the second report on Cultural and Creative Practice (CCPS) was published in collaboration with the National Statistics Office (NSO). The report’s publication was launched during the event The State of the Arts National Symposium, in October 2024. The results present a valuable analysis of the conditions under which artistic, creative, and cultural practitioners worked in light of the changes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and other national and international challenges, as well as the attitudes, aspirations, and personal perceptions of the practitioners. This follow-up survey ensured comparability and long-term understanding of the trends shaping cultural and creative practice in Malta.
A stratified random sampling process (without replacement) was employed. Additionally, quotas were used during the data collection phase to ensure that the required number of individuals from each subgroup was selected. In total, 2,428 individuals were contacted for the survey, of whom 1,007 participated, while 1,251 others were not eligible to participate. The data was collected through computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) between January 22 and February 1, 2024.
