Malta at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Supporting Maltese performing arts on the international stage

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Mentorship Programme marks a new chapter in the international development of Malta’s performing arts sector.

Launched by Arts Council Malta, the programme brought together 19 projects for a professional development journey focused on strengthening their international potential, fostering cultural exchange, and creating pathways for Maltese artists to reach audiences beyond Malta.

The programme was designed to provide participants with more than an opportunity to present their work abroad. Through workshops, one-to-one mentoring, peer exchange and networking opportunities, participants explored project development for export and touring, addressed practical challenges and gained a deeper understanding of the international performing arts industry.

The programme also provided space for artists to test ideas, strengthen the artistic and production quality of their work, build confidence and develop professional networks.
